Bowling. And little plastic trinkets. Oh, joy.

Sophie was invited to a birthday party last night at a bowling alley. Not only was this Sophie's first bowling experience, it was a first for all three children. Jon met us at the bowling alley and bowled with Madeline and Baxter. Once the kids got gutter bumpers and a ball ramp, they did pretty well. Baxter got a spare or two, and Madeline even rolled a strike (emphasis on "rolled," as all they had to do was aim the ramp and push the ball). Sophie got a couple of spares, too, but was much more interested in the cake.

After we bowled we took them all to the arcade and let them play a few games-- Baxter played the crane game FOUR times before it started to sink in that he wasn't going to get a spiky rubber ball. Madeline chose more wisely and got 15 tickets, which translated into a plastic top, a rubber bracelet, and little plastic clapping hands. She was thrilled with this loot, until I let Baxter play a game that gave HIM tickets, too, and suddenly she couldn't stand the idea that he had more than she did. Oy. There was all manner of screaming and crying over 32 cents worth of junk, likely to be discarded and forgotten in a day.

Why, oh why?

Sigh.

No, I'm published in PRINT!

It turns out that the Simple Scrapbooks issue that featured my page online also used my page as the "teaser" for the site in the print edition. So there's my page, on p. 20 of the magazine. It's only about 1.5 inches square, but it's there! Woo hoo.

I'm Published Online!

Simple Scrapbooks requested a digi page for their Virtual Page column online. Check it out! I’m still trying to get into the magazine pages, but this is pretty close.
